Management and Team

In the 2024/25 financial year, UWP had a total staff complement of 33 employees. Among them, 22 are technical staff, each with substantial experience in a wide range of engineering consulting services including roads and transportation, water supply and sanitation, highway design, structures, geotechnics, construction management, environmental engineering, as well as training and human resource management. The remaining staff members are in administrative roles.

Additionally, UWP engages other technical staff, or sub-consultants, on a contract basis as needed to enhance the company's technical capabilities.

Founder and Director Consultancy Services

Eng. Henry J. Catma established UWP Consulting (T) Ltd in May 2005, serving as its inaugural Managing Director. With over thirty years of experience in Tanzania's construction sector, he has substantially contributed to the industry's advancement.

His leadership has fostered the firm’s reputation for excellence while managing infrastructure projects in Tanzania. Even after his retirement, Eng. Catma continues as an advisor, mentoring young professionals and promoting sustainable growth within the construction industry.

He obtained his BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam in 1995 and was recognized by ERB as a Registered Independent Consulting Engineer in 2024. His expertise spans various civil engineering disciplines, including project management and contract administration, ensuring successful project outcomes amidst complex regulations.
